FAQs: FAQ

What is coaching?

Coaching starts from the belief that the individual always has the answers within them, but understands that they may need help to find and unlock those answers.

Aiming to improve personal performance, focus and capacity of self, whilst unlocking longer term potential for personal success as defined by the individual.

It’s really about raising awareness of self through dialogue and personal reflection, increasing focus, insight and momentum for action. It also encourages personal responsibility by establishing accountability, motivation and commitment.

Coaching brings more clarity, fulfilment, resilience, confidence and focus.

Why do people hire a coach?

People come to a coach for a number of reasons. It really can be anything from wanting to make a career move, gain clarity about what matters most to them in their lives, increase confidence, challenge their inner critic, navigate a complex work situation, prepare for an interview or significant event, develop their own personal brand, have a safe space as a trusted sounding board and so much more!

How long do coaching sessions last?

It really does depend on the circumstances and coaching request of the individual. But typically sessions will be somewhere between 60 - 90 minutes.

How many sessions would I need?

Again, it does depend on the circumstances of why someone is seeking coaching. For some, it may be just a one off session that they need, for others it could be a number of sessions, anything between two and six. It really is best to get in touch so we can chat about your needs.

What's the difference between coaching and therapy?

They are different.

Therapy is often a longer term process where an individual works to diagnose and resolve deeper personal issues and challenges that oftern impact their behaviours and feelings and can be difficult to overcome without professional help.

Coaches are not healthcare professionals. Coaching aims to improve personal performance, focus and capacity of self, whilst unlocking longer term potential for personal success as defined by the individual. It raises awareness of self through dialogue and personal reflection, increasing focus, insight and momentum for action. It also encourages personal responsibility by establishing accountability, motivation and commitment. Coaching brings more clarity, fulfilment, resilience, confidence and focus.

How much does it cost?

It's best to get in touch to talk about costs as it does depend on how many sessions you would like.

Where do the sessions take place?

It depends on your location. The majority will be held virtually using a meeting platform (such as Zoom or Teams etc). However if you are fortunate enough to live in beautiful Dorset here in the UK, it is possible for us to meet in person at a convenient place for an in person coaching session.

Do you work with groups or teams?

Absolutely, if you have a group of individuals or a team that would benefit from some coaching, then please get in touch and let's discuss your needs.

Do you facilitate coaching events or do coaching talks?

I'd be happy to discuss this with you. I am an experienced facilitator of both in-person and online workshops and events.
